Strong value for a substantial museum and city view. Check official free-entry periods, then focus on the Romanesque galleries and terrace instead of paying for several smaller art stops.
€12 (free Sat from 3pm); rooftop +€2
The Romanesque galleries are the revelation: medieval frescoes removed from Pyrenean churches are installed in curved apses, so their original architecture remains legible. Gothic panels, modern Catalan painting and decorative arts follow, but trying to cover every floor weakens the visit. Choose two collections, then step onto the terrace for the long view down Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina.
