Is Central Park worth it for history buffs?

SkipFor history

Central Park is the wrong stop for history & culture.

The park works because the city never disappears completely. Towers rise beyond the Lake, musicians gather under Bethesda Terrace and runners cut through landscapes designed to feel accidental. The southern landmarks are busy but coherent on a first walk; north of the Reservoir, the park becomes quieter and more neighbourhood-scaled. Avoid trying to cover all 843 acres. A deliberate two-mile route feels generous, while a checklist quickly becomes tiring.
