Is Tour Montparnasse Observation Deck worth it for photographers?

The running joke is that it's the best view in Paris because it's the one place you can't see the ugly tower you're standing on. The real draw: a 360° panorama with the Eiffel front and centre, far shorter lines than the tower itself, and a stunning sunset.
