Is Champagne Region Day Trip worth it in a day?

Cellar tours through chalk caves at the big maisons (and small growers), with tastings and the cathedral at Reims thrown in. It's a long day and not cheap, but for anyone who loves the drink, drinking it where it's made is the point. Most go via guided minivan.
